Outside

We have well-planned garden for the children.  The playrooms have direct access and the doors are kept open in fair weather to enable the children to make the choice whether they want to be inside or out.

"Children enjoy free acces ot the outdoor area...which includes imaginative use of equipment"  Ofsted Report 2010

The garden is divided into four separate areas: the grassed baby area, our EcoScape road and all weather area with a gravel dig pit, the Imagination Station and climbing frame, and our natural materials space, which includes a dirt digging pit, tractor tyres, balance beams, den and wigwam.  We make the most of our rural environment and encourage the children to appreciate and respect the outdoor area around them. All children go for regular walks round the village and visit the local parks in our 6 seater wagon and numerous single, twin and triple pushchairs.

This summer we have introduced our 'Outside Sleeping Policy'  With parents permission children will be having their naps outside.  The Nest children will sleep in pushchairs which lie flat under a shade in the baby garden.  The have fly nets covering them and a member of staff stays with them at all times.  The Hatchlings & Fledglings childrfen take it in turns to sleep under the shelter on the Imagination Station on their sleep mats with two members of staff with them.

The outside staff have walkie talkies to contact staff inside if necessary.
