Grouping

Our nursery is divided into two distinct areas.

Upstairs is for children who are under 2 years. 

Downstairs is for children aged 2 to 5 years.

Unlike many day nurseries we do not follow the rigid idea of children spending their day in one room.  All children will have a base room where their belongings and learning journeys are kept, but they will spend time learning, playing and interacting in all rooms on their floor.  We believe this is more natural for children and mirrors how they would move between different spaces at home.

The children will also have the opportunity to spend time in all areas of the nursery when they join a mixed aged group during Family Time

Our ethos on transitions between age groups is child led.  Children move when they are ready.  The ages listed next to individual rooms are a guide only.
